Happy New Year!
Most of us are excited that 2016 is over and we are headed into 2017 with new hopes. In addition to a few personal resolutions, I’ve decided to set three simple travel resolutions for the new year.
1. Be a tourist more in my own city/state.
I lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida, before moving to Arizona. And as I look back, I find myself wishing that I had spent more time exploring each home. I would hate to feel that way about Phoenix and Arizona in general in the future, so I’m going to try to get out there and experience more of it.
2. Take better photos.
Any suggestions for an inexpensive but HQ camera? I’ve been using my iPhone to take photos for the past few years, and I think it’s time for an upgrade. I really want to work on my creative eye and learn more about the art of photography, so now is the time!
Social media, work emails, checking the news… we often find ourselves getting caught up in our normal lives instead of living in the moment while traveling. So I’m going to try to say goodbye to that! I’m going to set specific times that I can check my social media and email while I’m away, and hopefully this goal will help me to be more spontaneous while traveling.
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and I look forward to forming relationships within the travel blogging community this coming year!
